Hi, my name is Tony Meaux. I've been a bus driver for the Vermilion Parish School system for over 22 years. I spent 23 1/2 years as a substitute driver, regular education driver, and special education driver. I now serve in the role of Transportation Specialist for VPSS. I am certified by the State of Louisiana to teach the "Coaching the Bus Driver/Defensive Driving" course. I am also certified to prepare new drivers in the Third Party Skills Test, which includes the Pre-Trip Inspection, Back Up Maneuvers, and Driving Skills test.

I am married to my wife of over 40 years, Diane. We have two children, both educators: Brock, who is the band director at Gueydan High and Jesse Owens Elementary, and our daughter, Lacey, who is the Virtual School manager at Abbeville High, where she also coaches and sponsors several activities.

I am a people person. I love being around and meeting new people as well as children. I think that children are our most precious gifts, and I take the responsibility of keeping them safe on their journey to and from school very seriously. I'm always willing to help someone better themselves, and I believe that you should never stop learning. It's for those reasons that I began training new bus drivers, and this site will hopefully help to make that process of training an easier, more enjoyable road for us to travel together.
